“MUSIC IS LIFE ITSELF”

Louis Armstrong

Jana was born in Slovenia and studied flute at University of Ljubljana – Music Academy – teaching and performance degree. She was competing solo and in chamber music ensemble, played at various national and international festivals, masterclasses, recorded for TV and radio.

Jana played with her band (flute, piano and voice) in UK, Slovenia and Greece. Often they would have other musicians involved (cello, violin, percussion, woodwind, brass). Jana also studied opera singing and performed with choirs. She writes her own songs, helps students with their performance to receive music scholarships, achieve high marks at exams, do A level and Performance grade diplomas and to nurture their love for music. These are all unique experiences that add to her musical tapestry.

Her experience of teaching beginners and advanced students, children and adults, brings together all of her knowledge, skills, friendly and kind approach, fun, patience and laughter. She motivates you, encourages and challenges you, discovers your abilities and talents to boost your confidence.

She loves sharing her love for music and celebrates the smallest achievements to support your musical journey.

Jana finds teaching and performing exceptionally rewarding roles and they hold a great responsibility – to portray the story, emotion, movement and resonate with the listener.

Jana’s lessons are fully energised, unique and tailored to your needs. She uses creative, flexible and lively approach to teaching and believes that a positive teaching experience/process with playfulness, encouragement and inspiration are essential for learning.

She can help you learn to read music, understand rhythms, make beautiful sound with your flute and voice, teach you performance skills (body posture, mind-set, ease anxiety, breathing).

She will motivate you, teach you improvisation, and introduce fun daily practice techniques and exercises. She is a strong believer that daily practice offers consistency and with that the progress is solid, steady and successful.

Learning a musical instrument is fun and it also helps to feed your brain as well as it improves your cognitive and physical aspects of your body. It is a win / win combination. With your commitment and practice the rewards are amazing, one of them also being a better memory.
